About Us

Our journey into child care began in January 2019 when we purchased the center from the original owner. It was love at first sight. The center's quaintness and charm were immediate draws. The center is in Creedmoor, a small community north of the Triangle Area that mirrors many aspects of the center. Creedmoor is a beautiful, peaceful, and friendly town that offers families a wholesome atmosphere to raise a family.

The center has prospered over the years as we have focused on operating a Preschool, not a daycare. We strive to develop our students and provide them with the tools to be successful in school and life. 

Whittmore Learning Academy’s mission is to provide a secure, nurturing, and educational environment that will promote children’s development into responsible adults. Children need to have the opportunity to grow physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. We encourage positive family involvement in the center and a parent-teacher approach where the needs of every child come first.

Although small, we are The Little School with a Big Heart. The Preschool offer activities that promote community outreach as we teach our students aspects of good citizenship.

At Whitmore Learning Academy, we strive to provide high-quality child care at a reasonable rate for our families. To reach this high standard, we strive to attain the following goals:

• To provide daily learning experiences for our children.
• To create a childcare setting for social, cognitive, and physical growth.
• To provide the community with a Preschool program that prepares children for kindergarten and beyond.

We believe that each child is unique and that all children can learn if placed in the proper environment and given sufficient encouragement. Whittmore Learning Academy provides fun and rewarding educational experiences. We utilize voluntary enhanced ratios to maintain low teacher-to-student ratios for more one-on-one interaction with our students. We emphasize the learn-through-play theory in our curriculum and activities that allows students a balanced and enjoyable day at school.

Our teachers recognize and receive training in all areas of early child development, including their cognitive, motor, language, and socio-emotional skills. This approach affords our teachers a more “in-depth” understanding of overall child development and allows for individualization based on each child’s needs.
