Audrey Glover (Owner)
Greetings,
I am married to my best friend, Troy. We are proud parents of a daughter and son. I enjoy reading, traveling, attending football and basketball games, and spending time with my family.
I attended Emmanuel College in Georgia and received my Early Childhood credentials from Wake Tech Community College. I have worked in early childhood education for over twenty years and believe children learn using all five senses. Consequently, I believe in using many "hands-on" activities with students in the classroom.
As a Preschool Teacher, I learned about and adhered to the principles and professional code of ethics of the North Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children (NCAEYC). This professional membership organization believes all educators should be advocates for children and families, respectful of others, and work to create a diverse, trusting, and respectful school environment. I strive to bring these values and principles into the center's culture and to advocate for issues dealing with children, families, and teachers.

Hello,
My name is Troy Glover. Yes, as you probably expect, I am Audrey’s husband. I have been extremely fortunate to find such a wonderful woman to share my life and dreams. Together we are on-site owners and operators of the center. I am the proud father of two wonderful children who are now very successful adults. My main hobbies (when I have the time) are woodworking and boating.
I witnessed first-hand how much Audrey influenced the lives of her students during her time as a Preschool Teacher. Some of her previous students, some even college-aged, would recognize her while we were out and would thank her for helping lay the foundation for their success. Seeing the critical need and importance of Early Childhood education played a big part in our decision to operate a center together.
My background is in Product Development and Project Management. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Level III Credential in Child Care Administration.
We strive to make the center the best Preschool in the area by offering vigorous educational and developmental programs in a safe and nurturing environment. Being a small center, we operate in a family-oriented atmosphere.

Our Teachers
At the heart of the Whittmore Learning Academy family are our teachers. They play an invaluable role inspiring students and guiding them in all areas of their development. The center has three educator roles; Lead Teacher, Assistant Teacher, and Floater Teacher. Although the roles and responsibilities of each position differ, we expect all of our teachers to:
- Embrace and promote the center's culture and values.
- Provide a nurturing, safe, responsive, and stimulating environment by planning and actively engaging in daily activities and routines.
- Form and maintain professional relationships with parents and families.
- Foster an environment of inclusivity that celebrates diversity.
- Be an advocate for the children by informing the appropriate parties of any suspected neglect or abuse.
- Encourage proper daily hygiene through frequent hand washing and using one's "germ pocket" when coughing and sneezing.
- Participate in ongoing professional childcare development training.
